Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his first title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after that period of the previous year.

Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to create a final set.

Moutet saved 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, he earned the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
